Meals for the Soul

Privacy

Short version: no accounts, no advertising, no cookies, nothing sold. One analytics beacon, described below in full rather than glossed over.

What you never have to give

There is no sign-in on this site and no account to create. Nothing is behind an email form. Nothing is behind a paywall. You can read every article, every saint's life, every chapter of Scripture and every prayer without identifying yourself in any way.

Cookies

This site sets none. Not for analytics, not for preferences, not for anything. If you check your browser's cookie list after visiting, it will be empty for this domain.

The one thing that does measure you

Every page loads a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com. That is Cloudflare Web Analytics, and it is how many people are reading, which pages they reach, and how quickly the pages load.

It was worth saying plainly rather than describing this site as one that "does not track you" — which is what this page used to imply — because a beacon that reports to a third party is a measurement whatever its design, and a site whose whole claim is accuracy should not make an exception for its own copy.

What it records, according to Cloudflare's own documentation:

What it does not do:

Cloudflare describes the product as privacy-first and says it does not collect personal data from visitors. You can read that for yourself: Cloudflare Web Analytics documentation. If you would rather not be counted at all, any content blocker will stop the script, and the site works exactly the same without it.

Server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps its own short-term operational records — the ordinary business of running a web server and turning away attacks. Those are Cloudflare's, not mine, and I do not export them or combine them with anything.

Email

If you write to info@mealsforthesoul.com the message reaches a mailbox run by Zoho on Canadian servers, and it is read by one person. Corrections are kept so that the fix can be checked later. Nothing is added to a mailing list — there is no mailing list — and no address is passed on to anyone.

What is hosted elsewhere

Pages here link out to other sites: to Cloudflare's documentation above, to the scanned books the prayers and Scripture are taken from, to archives and to church websites. Following a link puts you on somebody else's site under somebody else's terms. Nothing is embedded from anywhere else — no fonts, no videos, no share buttons, no comment system — so simply reading a page here contacts no one but Cloudflare.

Children

Nothing here is collected from anyone, of any age, beyond what is described above.

If this changes

It will say so here, with the date. This page was last revised on .

Something here inaccurate? That is worth knowing about more than almost anything else on the site. Tell me and it gets fixed.
